We are a family of 4, wanting to travel from Korcula to Dubrovnik on August 8th 2006. We arrive on the ferry at Korcula at 12.40. Any suggestions? πŸ˜€

perhaps night in each to see both as it would be shame to miss hvar. πŸ˜•

Also, is there a daily catamaran service from Split to Hvar or Split to Korcula in June?

Updated catamaran timetable is here :

    Hi Tracy,

Welcome to our travel forum and thanks for good reviews πŸ™‚

Yes, you will have opportunity to see Moreska in Korcula in June.

Moreska is performed by 2 local groups and they tend to perform it at least once a week as there are always people around who would like to see it.

BTW : Sorry for confusion, I consider June πŸ˜• as summer 8) 8)

Actually, my calendar consist of “summer” and “winter” only – sad but true πŸ™

in reply to: Stari Grad Hvar – Korcula-Mljet-Dubrovnik for June 2006 #21833

    Hi Richard,

On Jadrolinija ferry website I found following info:

    STARI GRAD (HVAR) 17.06.2006 09:00 KOR?ULA 17.06.2006 12:40

    and then:

    KOR?ULA 19.06.2006 18:00 SOBRA (MLJET) 19.06.2006 19:55

for last bit of your journey on 20.06.06 there are no Jadrolinija ferries , but you can take local ferry that sails every day to/from Mljet to/from Dubrovnik.

Info about that ferry is here: https://www.korculainfo.com/mljet/transport/index.htm

    good luck!

in reply to: Korcula to Dubrovnik on 04.06.06 #21829

ok, then, i guess you now need to go from Korcula to Dubrovnik on 05.06.06

if this is what you ask 😯 , then Jadrolinija has listed this ferry:

    KOR?ULA 05.06.2006 18:00 SOBRA (MLJET) 05.06.2006 19:55

    SOBRA (MLJET) 05.06.2006 20:05 DUBROVNIK 05.06.2006 21:50

so, you leave korcula at 6pm arriving in dubrovnik at 9.50 pm.

no other ferries to my knowledge…

    again, double check jadrolinija site…

    i hope this helps 8)

in reply to: Bus or ferry going to Dubrovnik on May 15 #21818

    hi, πŸ™‚

bus timetable didn’t change for years.

    the trouble is , sometimes, these afternoon buses don’t run πŸ™ πŸ™ πŸ™ ,

so to beon the safe side, i would suggest you to rely on morning bus from Korcula to Durovnik that leaves at around 6.45 am and arrives in Dubrovnik at 9.30 am.

in reply to: Korcula to Dubrovnik on 04.06.06 #21827

According to Jadrolinija Ferriew website, there is a ferry sailing from Korcula to Dubrovnik on 04.06.06.

    Here are the details:

    KOR?ULA 04.06.2006 07:00

    SOBRA (MLJET) 04.06.2006 08:55

    SOBRA (MLJET) 04.06.2006 09:05

    DUBROVNIK 04.06.2006 10:50

So, you leave KOrcula by ferry at 7am and arrive in Dubrovnik at 10.50 am.

    Please double-check yourself on http://www.jadrolinija.hr

    Hi Ben,

I am not sure you can find ALL of your camping/windsurfing needs at one place in or around Korcula πŸ™ , but I will try to explain as much as I know πŸ˜€ :

There are only few sandy beaches in Korcula, so there is not a lot of choice for sand anyway. Croatia is not very sandy country πŸ˜₯ Check this link about beaches and descriptions: https://www.korculainfo.com/beaches/

I would suggest camp Kalac – it has sandy beach for your kids and wife. The beach is ok – used mostly by families similar as yours. Kalac is right at the seashore , so it is very accessible, only 15-20 min walk from Korcula Old Town and near Hotel Bon Repos – restaurants, pizzeria, ice-cream, newspapars, coffe, teas, cakes…

    Kalac Beach link : https://www.korculainfo.com/luka-korculanska-beach/

As Kalac is located in the bay, the winds are not very strong, but if you sail out of the bay (see photo of the bay here: https://www.korculainfo.com/korcula/luka-korculanska-korcula.htm )

there will be good winds for windsufring in Peljesac Chanel. Bay is not very deep, so you can be out in the chanell pretty quickly..

    I hope this helps 8)

BTW : Is it really possible to have flat water and good wind?!

    hi katie,
thanks for good reviews of my website πŸ™‚
i am glad it is useful – i put in this lot of work and try to keep it as updated as possible…
at this stage, i am still filling up info from “my” part of the island – eastern part – korcula, lumbarda, zrnovo… so I didn't have time yet to explore details of western part of the island where prigradica is located… therefore, at the moment,Β  i can not tell you anything more than you can find on my pages.
please, come back from time to time to check is ther any more info related to “your” part of the island, but i can not promisse it will be available in next couple of months…
have a great time in prigradica!

in reply to: Bus or ferry going to Dubrovnik on May 15 #21816

    Hi Jeff,

Accoring to Jadrolinija website ( ferry lines) there is no ferry running from Korcula to Duborvnik on 15.05.06. There is one sailing on

16.05.2006 at 13:00 from KOR?ULA to DUBROVNIK arriving at 16:15

Regarding buses, there is a daily bus running from Korcula to Dubrovnik, leaving Korcula at about 6.45 and arriving in Dubrovnik at 09.30 ( aprox).

    check : http://www.korcula-croatia.com/bus-timetable-korcula-croatia.htm

in reply to: Dubrovnik to Korcula in July #21815

    hi harry,

i checked jadrolinija ferry timetable and it seems there is no ferry sailing that day to Korcula.

Your only option is to take bus from Dubrovnik to Korcula – it leaves at 3 pm and arrives in Korcula at 6.30 pm.

I’m afraid, you can not book tickets in advance for bus πŸ™ , it is first-come-first-serve ride, so my suggestion is if you are in Dubrovnik day or two before, buy your tickets from the counter.

in reply to: Ferry from Vela Luka to Split #21814

    Hi πŸ˜€

you can travel from Korcula Town to Split by catamaran : https://www.korculainfo.com/ferries/ferry-catamaran-korcula-hvar-split/

from Vela Luka to Split by catamaran and ferry:

Catamare leaves at 5.30 and ferry at 6.30.

you can check these timings for particular day on Jadorlinija’s website: http://www.jadrolinija.hr

in reply to: Ferries Dubrovnik, Korcula, Hvar #21793

Dubrovnik- Korcula and Korcula – Dubrovnik route:

there is no ferry every day at this route.

the best option is to check your dates on Jadrolinija Ferry page : http://www.jadrolinija.hrhttps://www.korculainfo.com/croatia/jadrolinija/

there is once a day catamaran service from Korcula to Hvar and back – see this page :

also, there are ferries from Hvar to Vela Luka too – again reffer to Jadrolinija pages.

in reply to: Dubrovnik to Korcula in January #21789

    Hi Kim, πŸ™‚

There is a bus running every day from Dubrovnik to Korcula. It departs at 3pm from Dubrovnik.

If you don’t catch it, you would need to overnight in Dubrovnik.

Also, you can take taxi to Korcula or hire a car and drive yourself.

As far as your return on 03.01.06 is concerned, there is a ferry from Korcula to Dubrovnik that leaves at 1pm but arrives too late for your flight (4.15pm). See details below:

    KOR?ULA 03.01.2006 13:00 DUBROVNIK 03.01.2006 16:15

(Check ferry info yourself on http://www.jadrolinija.hr)

So, your only option beside taxies and car hire, is a bus that leaves Korcula at 6.30am and arrives in Dubrovnik at 9.30 am

    I hope this helps πŸ™‚

    Good luck!
