I’m planing holiday with my family this year in Croatia. I’ve have already found some information concerning the travel and also the camping Kalac, but there is more information I need. I’m going to go with my wife so she needs to have the beach close to rest and sunbath, we have two small children so the beach must be sandy and safe, and what is more I’m the man interested in freestyle windsurfing – to do the sport I need flat water and good wind. Please help, are there any campings that would be suitable for me πŸ˜† I know there’s a lot of things to be included but could you help me One more question. I am looking for a camp that would have both the an access to the beach and the comfortable conditions for my sport. πŸ™„ Please help as fast as possible!! πŸ˜€ Thanks Ben

    Hi Ben,

I am not sure you can find ALL of your camping/windsurfing needs at one place in or around Korcula πŸ™ , but I will try to explain as much as I know πŸ˜€ :

There are only few sandy beaches in Korcula, so there is not a lot of choice for sand anyway. Croatia is not very sandy country πŸ˜₯ Check this link about beaches and descriptions: https://www.korculainfo.com/beaches/

I would suggest camp Kalac – it has sandy beach for your kids and wife. The beach is ok – used mostly by families similar as yours. Kalac is right at the seashore , so it is very accessible, only 15-20 min walk from Korcula Old Town and near Hotel Bon Repos – restaurants, pizzeria, ice-cream, newspapars, coffe, teas, cakes…

    Kalac Beach link : https://www.korculainfo.com/luka-korculanska-beach/

As Kalac is located in the bay, the winds are not very strong, but if you sail out of the bay (see photo of the bay here: https://www.korculainfo.com/korcula/luka-korculanska-korcula.htm )

there will be good winds for windsufring in Peljesac Chanel. Bay is not very deep, so you can be out in the chanell pretty quickly..

    I hope this helps 8)

BTW : Is it really possible to have flat water and good wind !
