I’m from Germany and me and my family are planning to visit Korcula from 9.-23. Ocotober this year.

We want to travel by car, so we have to use ferries.

I looked up the shortest way to Korcula and found out that we have to take the ferry from Ploce to Trpanj and then from Orebic to Korcula.

So I looked at the timetables for these ferries and unfortunately I had to notice that for the ferry from Ploce to Trpanj there was only a timetable until the end of September.

So I looked for other ferries to Korcula, e.g. from Split or Drvenik but I always had the problem that the ferry either does not run in October or that it does not run to the right times like the Split-Korcula-ferry.

We could use it on Saturday morning from Split to Korcula but from Korcula back to Split it does not run on Saturdays so that we would have to leave the island a few days earlier or later.

So I would like to ask you to tell us the best way to get to Korcula on 9. October and to leave it on 23. October when driving a car with trailer.

Many thanks in advance and I hope to hear from you soon.

Wonder if you may be able to help. We are planning on traveling from Split to Hvar, then Hvar to Korcula and then Korcula to Dubrovnik in early October. I think we are ok with ferries etc until we get to Korcula – then I am struggling to work out how to get from Korcula to Dubrovnik. In October is it correct there is one bus a day at 06:45 from Korcula Can we book this in advance Is it likely the bus will be full

    Many thanks.

yes, in october there is just one bus a day to dubrovnik leaving at 6:45 am.
yes, you can book in advance, at the bus station, once you arrive in korcula.
it is unlikely the bus will be full.

First of all you take the bus from the airport to the main bus station in the city. (35 kuna per person)

Then you take the bus to Korcula. (no multiple buses)

Dubrovnik to Korcula (peak season) Every Day Departs 09:00, Arrives 12:00
Every Day Departs 15:00, Arrives 18:25

Dubrovnik to Korcula (non-peak season) Monday to Saturday Departs 15:00, Arrives 18:25
    Sunday Departs 18:00, Arrives 21:10

Or you take a rent-a-car and drive there.

Day trip from Korcula to Hvar – pre-booking not necessary. maybe on the day before.
Leaving Korcula to Split – pre-booking on the day or the day before should be ok.

I’m having trouble finding any reliable information on whether it’s possible to get to Korcula from Ploce by public transportation in early May.

I found ferry schedules for Ploce to Trpanj and from Orebic to Korcula, but I don’t know if the bus runs from Trpanj to Orebic in the off-season.

Can you confirm that there is indeed a bus that runs in the off-season from Trpanj to Orebic

Also, is there a link to a web site with the bus schedule

Yes, there are buses from Orebic to Trpanj. Buses run 3-4-5 times a day , depending of ferries arrival and departure to and from Ploce.

Each ferry from and to Ploce is met by bus for and to Orebic in season and off season.

It has always been that buses meet the ferries from Ploce as they arrive in Trpanj so that people can get across the peninsula to Orebic and then to Korcula.
Season/Off season all the time. Always.

We need a ferry in May to go from Split to Korcula.

And than a ferry from Korcula to Dubovnik.

We tried to make a reservation for these ferries but it seems they start in June.

Does that mean there are NO ferries during the month of May

    Please help

Nancy, there are ferries in May.

You can not book them online in advance:

We are a family of three (traveling with our teenage son) and we will be visiting Croatia in July. Specifically, I would appreciate any information you could give me about traveling to and from Korcula. We have a very short schedule so we would like to travel from Dubrovnik to Korcula on Wednesday, July 10. We would stay overnight in Korcula and then travel from Korcula to Split on Thursday, July 11. We will be traveling on foot (no car) and would prefer to take a fast boat if possible.

Can you tell me if there are ferries or catamarans traveling from Dubrovnik to Korcula on Wednesday in July (10th)? I have not found any that go on Wednesday. Is a bus the only option?

And can you tell me the different boat companies that would go from Korcula to Split on Thursday (11 July)? I have only found one that departs at 6am and we would like to try to leave a little later in the morning.

I appreciate your help! The information is confusing for someone not as familiar with the area!

    Thank you so much,
    -Janice
