Proizd in Vela Luka among best beaches on the Dalmatian coast

In today’s edition of Daily Telegraph, Proizd beach is featured as one of the best beaches in Croatia. Here is an excerpt from the article:
Not so much a beach as a geological wonder, the islet of Proizd is a maquis-covered lump of rock lying just off Vela Luka, Korcula Island’s main port. There are four main bathing areas, located five minutes’ walk from each other along sandy trails. Most dramatic of these are Srednji Bili Bok and Veli Bili Bok, both consisting of steeply-sloping stone plates shelving dramatically into a turquoise sea. Less awesome to look at but equally enjoyable are Batalo, a shallow bay popular with paddling families, and Donji Bili Bok, a nudist beach at Proizd’s western tip.

Who goes Get-away-from-it-all families and couples, and yachting folk cruising the Dalmatian islands.

What is there to do Swim, snorkel, or simply toast yourself on a hot rock. You’re unlikely to find anybody renting out sunloungers on Proizd, so be sure to bring something soft to sprawl on.
