The project of the new port of Korčula – port of Polačište includes:
There will be a completely new access road to the terminal, the one that will connect the main island’s road with Polaciste. Here are some photos (source: korcula.hr):
2022 – November
Construction work is progressing as per plan. Here are some photos from November 2022:
2022 – September 01 – Works began on the new ferry terminal. The plan is that the terminal will be finished in the next 30 months (by the end of 2025). It is expected that all ferries to/from Korcula will depart and arrive from there instead of the current terminals in Korcula Old Town and Domince. It means that the car ferry from/to Orebic will also arrive and depart from here, as well as ferries from/to Split, from/to Hvar, Brac, Mljet, and Dubrovnik too. The new ferry terminal in Orebic (Perna) is also planned to be finished at a similar time.
The exhibition of images and 3d models of Korcula’s new ferry terminal proposal is currently on display in Dom Kulture in Korcula. The new ferry terminal proposal is prepared by architect Niko Ivancevic of Arhitekt d.o.o. company from Split and a team of experts.
Polaciste bay, in the near vicinity of Korcula Town, Medvinjak, and Zrnovska Banja is chosen for time being as the best possible location for the new ferry terminal.
If accepted as a final solution, it is expected that this ferry terminal will satisfy all modern specifications for the current and future needs of Korcula and neighboring places.
The public discussion of this proposal will be on Tuesday, 01.12.09, so if you have something to say about this, don’t miss the opportunity.
