Some good and reassuring news are coming from Croatian media regards future of Peljesac Bridge, the important infrastructure object that was supposed to be built to connect the Croatian Mainland and Peljesac Peninsula.
It has been reported that Bozidar Kalmeta, the Croatian Sea, Transport and Infrastructure Minister said in Zadar last week that scrapping the construction of the Peljesac Bridge was out of the question.
“Most of the works that is currently under way is not visible, which perhaps confuses some people”, he said in response to questions from the press.
He also said the bridge would most probably be built by the end of the current government’s term, and added that there were no directives from the European Union to abandon construction.
“There are no doubts about the Peljesac Bridge. The work on the access roads has begun and abutments have been ordered… Everything possible at this stage of the project is being done”, said the minister.
