Marco Polo Challenge 2015 – Korcula Triathlon 25.04.2015

Races:

Olympic triathlon

1500 m swim + 40 km bike + 10 km run

Open to contestants above 18 yrs according to competing categories of Croatian Triathlon Federation.
Marco Polo Challenge represents the official opening of Croatian triathlon season and it is open for all interested licenced competitors as well as all other amateur triathlon enthusiasts.

Sprint Triathlon

750 m swim + 20 km bike + 5 km run

For contestants above 15 yrs of age according to competing categories of Croatian Triathlon Federation. Open to male, female and mixed teams made of three participants from 15 yrs of age and above.

Sprint triathlon – relay

750 m swim + 20 km bike + 5 km run

Open to male, female and mixed teams made of three participants from 15 yrs of age and above.
*Swimming part of the competition is open to those who have turned 12 yrs of age.

Super sprint triathlon – cadets and juniors ( Interschools Cup )

375 m swim + 10 km bike + 2,5 km run

This race is primarily intended for students of 7th and 8th grades of elementary schools. The race shall be organized if until 15th April there should be enough signed up teams.

Street race – humanitarian action

10 km run

Along with the Olympic triathlon, the street race shall be organized aimed towards promoting a healthy lifestyle and association Kap u moru [Drop in the Sea] helping children width special educational needs in preschool, elementary and secondary education through the work of teaching assistants on island Korcula and Peljesac peninsula.
This competition is open to contestants in following categories:
M – F: 15 – 19 yrs, 20 – 29yrs, 30 – 39yrs, 40 – 49yrs, 50 – 59 yrs and older.

Local schools championship in Team Relay Running

Races are primarily aimed towards students attending local elementary schools in following categories:
1. & 2. grades
3. & 4. grades
5. & 6. grades
7. & 8. grades

AT CITY CENTRE BY NOB-FIGHTERS MONUMENT
09:00 Opening of the transfer zone, obtaining of start numbers.
10:00 Opening ceremony.
10:15 Start of Local schools championship in Team Relay Running.
11:00 Sprint triathlon race single and relay start, M&Ž
11:15 Supersprint triathlon race start, M&Ž
11:45 Transfer zone closing.
12:00 Olympic triathlon start, M&Ž
13:00 Awards ceremony for Team Relay Running
13:30 10 km street race start – “Veliko srce”
15:30 Awards ceremony for Olympic triathlon.
18:00 Some presentation (lecture) and cultural program.

20.30 Dinner for all race participants.
