Jadrolinija is a Croatian ferry company founded in Rijeka, Croatia in 1947. The company operates car ferries, both on domestic local and coastal routes to the islands on the Croatian coast, as well as some ferry routes to and from Italy. Jadrolinija owns 33 ferries, 5 catamarans, 1 hydrofoil, and some classic ships.
If you arrive in Croatia from Western Europe and intend to travel towards the south of the Adriatic or Dalmatian Islands, a good idea is to take the ferry at Rijeka on board one of the ferries (Marko Polo, Dubrovnik, or Liburnija). These ferries will take you from Rijeka to Split and Dubrovnik, as well as to Croatian islands Hvar, Korcula, and Mljet. (Update – unfortunately, these ferries are discontinued at the present)
Note: If you find it difficult to read Jadrolinija ferry timetables, try Croatia ferries where all timetables are written in user-friendly format 🙂 Ferries that are owned by Jadrolinija are fairly comfortable, some with en suite cabins and bunk beds. Restaurants on ferries tend to serve tasty food and a variety of wines, beer, and soft drinks.
Jadrolinija operates numerous local ferry routes between the Croatian Mainland and Islands all along the coast. Some of the routes are listed below:
