Donje Blato

The field of Donje blato is situated on the eastern edge of the island of Korcula, between the town of Korcula and the village of Lumbarda. Donje blato is typical karst field surrounded by hills with the length of about 1.5 km and width of about 0.5 km. It is separated from the coast of Adriatic sea by Pelegrin hill.

The field is a good place to go for walk in any part of the year although in winter and rainy periods it gets flooded and it is the time when people like to go for walk around there as at that time the area looks pretty dramatic with various colours of grass in the landscape and reflections in water. This field is also great for bird watching. Below is a selection of photos that were taken on one spring walk around the field – have a look.
