Danica (Duna) Peklic – Peyer: Korcula Paintings

Danica (Duna) Peklic – Peyer a Croatian painter born in 1888 visited Korcula on numerous occasions as she owned Villa Peyer in Sveti Nikola street, Korcula. The villa was built by her husband Alfred Peyer, a Croatian architect. She got it as a divorce settlement in 1935. In the late 1930s she sold the villa to her friend and fellow artist Maksimilian Vanka after which she left Croatia to settle in USA.

Nowadays, Villa Peyer house the Memorial Collection Maksimilijan Vanka as well as Maksimilian Garden Beach Bar.
