Banje Beach – Korcula

beach-banje-korcula21

Beach Banje is pebble/ shingle Korcula Town beach, situated in Borak area in the vicinity of Marko Polo, Liburna and Park Hotel.

This is the oldest beach in the town (see historical photos below), very busy in the summertime, crowded with tourists as well as locals.

There are numerous cafes and restaurants nearby, so one can have some refreshment – no need to get fully dressed.

If you are based in Korcula Town, this beach is very good for small children and families. It is also good for people who are interested in doing a sailing or windsurfing course.

The beach is on the walking distance from all areas of the town, fairly sheltered from Maestral wind, but opened to Bura and Jugo/Siloko winds(see Windrose)

Banje beach is very popular with locals who live around Borak and Naselje areas, as well as among members of KPK – Korcula’s swimming and water polo club, who like to go for a swim at Banje after their training sessions at the next-door swimming pool.

  • The main access to the beach is via steps from Setaliste Frana Krsinica street/promenade.
  • There is no wheelchair nor pushchair access to this beach.
  • Nearest public transport (bus, taxi) is on about 5 minutes walk
