ZAVALATICA
In Zavalatica one can find a nice restaurant with large terraces right by the sea. This is a very beautiful place to sit and watch the open and mighty sea in front of you.
There is a daily bus service from Korcula to Cara ( 2 km from Zavalatica ) that runs about 6 times a day. Once in Cara, you can walk to Zavalatica in about 20 minutes. Alternatively, you can rent a bike or scooter for day trip to Zavalatica. Korcula - Cara daily bus departures:

What I really like about Zavalatica is exactly that feeling of huge quantity of sea in front of you! Zavalatica's bay is not secluded and hidden from the sea like most other attractive bays on the Island of Korcula - it is quite open to the sea, so one sometimes have that overwhelming feeling of sheer size of that gigantic water container and horizon line that is so heavy, constant and infinite with only one
interruption - the skyline of 
Another great thing to do in Zavalatica is to come there on the stormy and rainy day when almost nobody is around. These are the days when southern wind Jugo (pronounced Yugo) that blows from Otrant and Mediterranean Sea, brings big waves to Zavalatica's rocky seashore and smashes them towards the gray and green pine trees that grow around the cost. I like that powerful energy that waves brings with themselves reminding us of our own temporal and fragile existence.
Zavalatica has 2 grocery stores and couple of restaurants as well as small night bar situated on the sea shore, where you can enjoy your evening drink if you happened to be there in at that time of the day.
