Medvidnjak is a bay in the near vicinity of Korcula Old Town. It got its name after seals (morski medvjed = seal) that use to live in this bay long time ago. It takes about 15 to 20 min walk to reach Medvidnjak bay from the very centre of Korcula town. This is a newly urbanised bay with a lot of nice detached houses that offer apartments for holiday rental. Medvidnjak has a great views over Peljesac Peninsula and Mountain Sveti Ilija. It has it's own small pebble beach that is used for swimming and sunbathing by locals as well as their guests. Medvidnjak is a good place to windsurf too, as it is just accross the water from Viganj - popular windrurfing spot. Regular bus serice to Racisce connects Korcula Old Town with this suburb.
