Street Scene - Old KORCULA PHOTOS

Old Photo of Korcula's Street at the edge of Old Town - notice lovely public light holder at the edge of the wall and the man carrying two bowls next to it. I guess these were bowls with water as at that time there were not running water available at the island, so people used to go to Trepoci - large public container near Primorska Vrata from which water was distributed to inhabitants. Also, have a look at the background of the photo where suburb of Sveti Nikola is - there are only couple of house there at the time. Check also this photo View from Old Town - taken much earlier from the same location. Lovely old photo of Korcula's west side taken in the late afternoon. Little girl wearing an apron is curious about photographer. Dog is walking along the pier and some fishermans are in their boats. The background of the picture shows Sveti Nikola with only few houses and dominating Sveti Nikola chuch tower.
