Korcula NEWS ARCHIVE15/06/04 - Korcula Cultural Centre and Dubrovnik Theatre ' Marin Drizc' are presenting contemporary drama/play ' BETULA' by Croatian writer and director Fedja Sehovic. It is going to be at Korcula Old Town's open-air stage on 20/06 at 9.30pm. Entry is free. This is a great opportunity to see contemporary croatian theatre performance in the ambiance of Korcula medieval walls. If you are in Korcula this weekend, don't miss it! Everybody is welcome :) 14/06/04 - Korcula Society from Zagreb is organizing on 20/06/04 at 8pm a charity concert in Zagreb at Velika dvorana Matice hrvatske, Maticina 2, Strossmayerov trg 4. It will be a poetry reading by Korcula artist - painter Izvor Oreb, as well as some opera performances by local opera singers Tonci Petkovic and Niksa Radovanovic. Entry is free but donations are welcome! 12/06/04 - Concert by the Korcula traditional music bands 'Verse' and 'Guc' was performed last night in Korcula Old Town. This performance was their last-minute rehearsal/performance before Festival Klapa Omis competition. We are looking forward to see and hear them there! Good luck and fingers crossed! 09/06/04 - Dutch
prince Bernard visited Korcula 07/07/04 - Youth Group ' Mravci' from Korcula are organizing 3 day cartoon / comics workshop for kids and youngsters. The workshop will run from 11-13/06/04. The venue is ACI Marina Korcula. Guests of workshop are well known cartoonist from Croatia - Ivan Prlic - Prle and Krešimir Certic - Misch from Zagreb. All kids and youngsters are welcome to join! 06/06/04 - Kvartet Gorgonzola, the music band from Korcula, are about to release their second CD. The video-spot with their song ' Mande , Cice i Curini' will be shown on croatian TV for next few months. First viewing will be on Friday 11/06 at 6.45 pm at HTV1 channel, in program called ' HR kod'. This relief , property of Korcula Museum will be exhibited in Barcelona until end of September. Exhibition titled ' Mediterraneum. The Splendor of the Medieval Mediterranean (13th-15th centuries)' is organized by The European Institute of the Mediterranean and Maritime Museum of Barcelona. The venue is History Museum of Catalonia as well as Maritime Museum of Barcelona. This is the only exhibit from Croatia. |
