Korcula NEWS ARCHIVE29/06/04 - Winners of the competition ' The Fastest Korcula Waiter' that was held last night in Korcula, are Ms . Djudrja Pendo and Mr. Drazen Bakaric.They were the best and fastest among 40 other waiters which run around Korcula Old Town to deliver the largest amount of beer to Los Docos Bar.This was the first ever competition of this kind which is going to be held in Korcula every year 28/06/04 - Concert by music groups Verese, Redy Cool , ENI and Let3 was organised last weekend in Korcula. It happened at the East Harbour of Korcula Old Town. There were few hundred people ( mostly youngsters) from Korcula and some tourist too. For example, for a flight on July 31, returning a week later, BA's fare of £106.90 was more than £230 cheaper than those offered by Croatia Airlines and Malev." - Telegraph Travel article 24/06/04 - Music students from the Korcula Music School (part of Dubrovnik Music School) had last weekend their end of year concert in Korcula Town. They played about thirty different music tunes on various instruments - piano, violin, guitar, clarinet, flute etc. Department of the wind instruments had their independent open-air performance in Korcula Old Town too , playing for their parents, guests and passers by on the square in front of the church Sv. They are expecting the swimming pool will be in full working order next week. Korcula has a long tradition in competitive swimming as well as water polo, so hundreds of local children are looking forward to resume their training sessions as soon as possible 21/06/04 - New Petrol Station ' RAVLIC' is opened in Orebic, Peljesac. It is works 24 hrs around the clock and supplies all sorts of fuel. Orebic is town across the channel from Korcula Old Town, a place one passes through leaving or arriving in Korcula by ferry or boat. It is less then mile away from Island of Korcula 20/06/04 - Competition 'Korcula's Fastest Waiter' is due on 28. 06.04 at 6pm. The competition is organised by cocktail bar-a "Dos Locos" and Korcula Hotel Company. Start of the race is in front of Hotel Korcula and follows around Korcula Old Town via Plokata and Tri Sulara to bar "Dos Locos." It's going to be fun and exciting race, as on their way, the waiters will have to dodge various traps with trays full of large beer glasses.
