winds disrupt traffic in Croatia (AFP) - Nov
14, 2004 - Stormy winds disrupted air, road and sea traffic
along Croatia's Adriatic coast on Sunday, causing delays
and cancellations, as well as power failures, local media
reported. Due to Bura wind, gusting up to 200 kilometers
(125 miles) per hour, the airport at Dubrovnik on the
southern Adriatic had to cancel flights, airport authorities
said. Ferry connections to nearby islands were cancelled
and some islands had power cuts. Air traffic at the southern
coastal town of Split was disrupted but resumed around
midday.

- Prize for Smiljana Matijaca and her candy shop 'Cukarin'
- Tourist Association of Dubrovnik Region graded Smiljana
Matijaca, the owner of Cukarin candy shop in Korcula,
the highest number of points in the original tourist offer
category for production of traditional sweets and travarica
(herb brandy) according to old recipes. Info Center of
Korcula Town Tourist Board was graded the best such center
in the Dubrovnik County.
19.10.04 - Exhibition of photographic work by Neven Fazinic, photographer
from Korcula, is on at Gallery ' Maximillian Vanka'. The
exibition contains about 180 photos of various churches
around Island of Korcula. It will last until 24.10.04
and is opened every day from 5 to 7 pm.
