Does the new catamaran IRIS depart from Korcula Town? Also does it arrive in Hvar Town or Stari Grad?

    Please advise. Thank you.

  • edita on February 27th, 2007 9:27 pm

    Hello Jim,
Yes, catamaran ferry departs from Korcula Town and sails to Hvar town ( not Stari Grad)

  • Todd Robert on March 7th, 2007 11:00 pm

Is there any way to purchase tickets in advance? particularly for travel during summer months.

  • edita on March 7th, 2007 11:04 pm

    Hello Todd,

The listing of agencies that sell tickets ( listed bellow timetable) is here:

    http://www.korculainfo.com/ferries/catamaran-korcula.htm

In my opinion, with new vessel which have capacity of 400 it is unlikely to expect it to be overbooked.

  • Sara Cox on March 17th, 2007 12:31 pm

What is the price of the tickets from Split to Hvar, return?

  • edita on March 19th, 2007 12:10 am

is there only the one ferry every day in summer? and how long does it take to get from the split airport to the harbour as our anticipated flight times are very adjacent to the ferry times!

  • Jon on September 2nd, 2007 3:42 pm

Is it possible to take a bicycle (not a motorbike) on board the catamaran? If so, do you have to book ahead and pay an extra charge?

  • grace wong on October 31st, 2007 3:30 pm

is there ferry departing Korcula (any port) to Dubrovnik on Nov 12?

    thanks.

  • Elizabeth on February 27th, 2008 7:34 pm

We will be traveling to Croatia this summer (June 2008). We fly into Split airport and plan to head directly to Hvar Town via passenger ferry. A few questions:

    1. How far is the ferry from the airport (how long is the trip)?
    2. Does the ferry still go directly to Hvar Town from Split and is it a 1 hour ride?
    3. Are ferry tickets still 100 kuna per person roundtrip for ferry ride from Split-Hvar Town-Split?
    4. Is there a ferry schedule available for transportation times during June 2008?
    5. Can ferry tickets be purchased in advance on the internet or must tickets be purchased by phone?
    7. Is there a bus, taxi or car service that provides transportation from the Split airport to the ferry and from the ferry to Split airport?

    Thank you!

  • edita on February 27th, 2008 8:58 pm

    Elizabeth:
1/from split airport to harbour it takes about 40 minutes by bus. Taxi will take shorter – 30 min aprox.
2/Yes, ferry still goes directly to Hvar town. Yes, it is about 1 hour ride.
3/Yes, tickets are still 100 kuna.
4/Not yet, but shedule will updated as soon as we get info.
5/No, ferry tickets can not be purchased in advance. Only on the day of travel.
6/Yes, there is a bus and taxi service that you take from Split airport to the harbour.

  • Oscar on March 3rd, 2008 1:07 pm

    Hi Good Morning

Would you be able to tell me when will the summer 2008 timetable will be available?

Will you still have a 5pm service from Split to HVar?

    Regards

    Oscar

  • edita on March 3rd, 2008 1:28 pm

Oscar: Yes, we expect the same timetable to be valid for summer 2008 – so, yes, 5pm ferry is expected..

  • Jon on March 13th, 2008 10:00 pm

We will be arriving into the Split airport at 1:30 PM on June 28th. Can we just buy tickets once we arrive at the Splir harbor? Does the catamaran ever sell out? Thanks.

  • edita on March 18th, 2008 3:22 pm

Jon: Yes, you buy ticket once you arrive at the Split harbour.
It is unlikely ferry catamaran Split to Korcula will be sold out – it should be no problem.. If that happends, you can always take other one to Vela Luka and then take bus to Korcula..

  • Jon on March 31st, 2008 6:04 pm

We will actually be travelling to Hvar from Split. Does that catamaran ever sell out? Is it possible to arrange for tickets in advance? Thanks again.

  • edita on April 1st, 2008 8:12 pm

Jon: No advance tickets are available. It rarely sells out, you should have no poblem.

  • Sergio on April 6th, 2008 5:52 pm

Hello. We will be in Split in mid May. We would like to visit Hvar on Wednesday 14 and next day move on to Korkula. It seems to be possible with your company; catching the catamaran on Wed @4pm from Split to Hvar; and next day catching the cataraman from Hvar to Korcula @5:10pm.

Would you kindly confirm if our understanding is correct? Thank you in advance.

  • edita on April 6th, 2008 6:10 pm

Sergio: Yes, your understanding is correct – take ferry from Split to Hvar at 4pm , then take following day 5.10pm ferry from Hvar to Korcula.

  • chris on May 6th, 2008 1:51 pm

Hello. On Friday May 9, 2008 does your catamaran leave Split for Hvar town at 14.00 or at 16.00?
    Thank you

  • edita on May 6th, 2008 2:12 pm

Chris: In May catamaran leaves Split at 4pm (16.00)

  • David on May 14th, 2008 6:29 pm

We shall be visiting Dubrovnik from 25.05.08 to 31.05.08 and Split from 31.05.08 to 07.05.08.
Is it possible to make a day trip to Korcula form either of these two places.
We should be very grateful for some information.
    Many Thanks

  • edita on May 14th, 2008 10:03 pm

David: You would need to overnight in Korcula unless you book daytrip with specialist agency in Dubrovnik.

  • Matthew on May 23rd, 2008 11:40 pm

I am trying to go from Split to Hvar on the 10th of June, Hvar to Korcula on the 12th and then Korcula to Dubrovnik on the 13th? Is that possible and is that too hectic of a schedule?

  • edita on May 25th, 2008 7:49 pm

Mattew: It is doable. Is it hectic? Yes, I guess it is a bit..

  • Sarah on May 26th, 2008 9:40 pm

We would like to travel from Dubrovnik-Korcula-Hvar-Split, spending about 3 days on each island. Do we need to buy individual tickets for each leg of this journey (ie Dubrovnik-Korcula, then Korcula-Hvar and then a final ticket for Hvar-Split) or is there one ticket that we can buy that will allow us to get off and back on the ferry?

  • edita on May 26th, 2008 11:08 pm

Sarah: Different companies run these ferries, so you have to buy 3 different tickets.

  • Shane on June 12th, 2008 5:20 pm

We will be arriving in Split Airport around 15.30 on Friday 11 July. Is it likely that we will make the 17.00 ferry?

Do I need to book a ticket in advance or can we buy one at Split harbour for one of the ferry/catamaran services when we arrive?

    Thanks for your help.

  • edita on June 12th, 2008 9:22 pm

Shane: If you are lucky enough that your flight is not late, you can make it to 5pm ferry. You can not buy tickets in advance, but at the ferry / catamaran once you arrive. Alternative is to take a bus that leaves Split at 1am (1 hr after midnight) and arrives in Korcula at 6am.

  • Stine on June 23rd, 2008 5:43 pm

I’m arriving at Split airport on sat 28.june around 18.00, going to Hvar. Is it correct that my only option is to take the ferry that leaves at 20.30 to Stari Grad? Do you know if there will be a bus to Hvar Grad waiting there at that time? I hoped that ther would be a catamaran or somthing fast going directly to Hvar Grad but that is not an option is it?

I see that people say that the last catamaran is at 17.00. But isn’t there a catamaran going via Hvar to Vis leaving Split at 18.00..? I’m not gonna make it to this perticular boat, just wondering.. 🙂

  • edita on June 23rd, 2008 5:55 pm

Stine: This is the last catamaran for Korcula. Yes, Split- Hvar – Vis leaves at 6pm. It should be bus waiting for ferries at Stari Grad.

  • Marko on July 8th, 2008 7:57 pm

Is it possible to take a bicycle on the catamaran?

  • ABYS on July 9th, 2008 6:32 am

    Hi edita!
I join to Marko question. And more: I’m one of the bike travel enthusiasts, and I’m going to travel on Dalmatia in skip from island to island manner. Unfortunately, many of local ferry connections is designated only for foot pasengers… And I have another question: are there (at all) any other boats, ferry, etc. which can takes bikes?

  • Marko Koers on July 10th, 2008 6:54 am

    Hello Edita!
The reason I’m asking about the bikes on catamaran is the followoing: we are staying on Vis for a couple of days. Then we want to go Korcula without going back to Split. From Vis to Hvar there is only a catamaran for example. Can we take that boat with bikes? Marko

  • edita on July 10th, 2008 7:00 am

Marko/ABYS: It is hard to definetly answer your questions. It depends of decision by crew of particular vessel, depending how much space is left, what are weather conditiones etc.. If you pack your bike flat, you have more chance to be accepted. Also, if you come early and negotiate you might be accepted even without packing it flat if there are space available.. there is no definite answer for this. Good luck 🙂

  • Jon on July 28th, 2008 3:53 am
