The new Orebic bypass for ferry to Korcula

Link : Large Map of Korcula, Orebic and Peljesac Chanell
According to announcement by Tomislav Jurjevic, the head of Opcina Orebic (the Orebic Municipality) , withing next 2-3 years, we can expect new Orebic bypass road to be fully functional.
The new Orebic bypass will connect main Peljesac Road with (future) ferry treminal in Perna, to give easier and better access to ferries that connects Peljesac and Island of Korcula.
As the existing road that runs through Orebic, along the seashore to current ferry terminal to Korcula was not built to sustain a large number of vehicles and is rather narrow, in recent years during summertime, the increase of traffic through the Orebic towards the ferry terminal is often difficult and jammed.
With the introduction of new ferry terminal in Perna and Orebic bypass, it is expected that traffic in the area will become more bearable.
The project will be financed by the Ministry of Sea Tourism Transport and Development of the Republic of Croatia and Dubrovnik-Neretva Country.
