I received recently email from Jason who lives in Kuciste (Peljesac Peninsula) in which he expressed his concerns and suggestions about mooring places for small, local boats that visit Korcula for few hours per day. This is his email:

Hi, I really enjoy your blog and keeping up with local developments in and around Korcula. Regarding the new Harbour authority and mooring for large cruise ships, I was wondering whether there are any plans to improve access for small boats visiting Korcula? Read the rest of this entry »

Renovation of Ex Robna Kuca in Korcula

Finaly, after a years of neglect, ex-Robna Kuca in Korcula is going to regain its previous glory ;-)

Thanks to new rental lease, one of the ugliest buildings in Korcula, with that well known “pre-freedom” look, unfortunately located on one of the best locations in town - Korcula East Pier, is getting complete face-lift.

I wrote about this bulding couple years ago under the title Be careful while waiting for ferry “- click here to read - when building was treat to public safety, especially to people waiting for ferries.

Allegedly, the new “robna kuca house” will become some kind of shopping mall, with shops, cafes, and restaurant at its ground floor. Top floors will house offices of local bank and shipping company.

Bellow photos, kindly supplied by Roko of Roko & Ela Apartments are showing current actions in the area:

BBQ Donut for Korcula Harbour

Following my continous search for additional ideas to add to The Cruiser Jam in Korcula Harbour , I found someting interesting that can also be considered:

Floating “BBQ Donut” (in Croatian, this would be translated as ” Plutajuca Gradele Krafna) is “Unique circular boat for barbecue fun on the water”.

In its brochure the bbq-donut is described as ” an absolute eye-catcher and an effective customer magnet: whether for barbecue parties on the water, as an advertising platform at your next trade fair or as special extra seating in your business. The low-smoke charcoal-burning barbecue forms the heartpiece of the centre panel. Integrated cavities in the table for safe positioning of cold drinks, plates and cutlery. The silver-coloured seats are ergonomically shaped and made for up to 10 persons.

To me it seems this Donat is a cute little thing that can be fun to use in our harbour.

It could be colorfull addition to possible Floating Hotel. You never know - it might appear in our waters soon…
