i was doing some work around midnight last night when suddenly, somebody called from the street saying : “hello, have you got any place to accommodate us? it’s 22 of us - we are scouts from belgium doing island hopping in croatia and we need to stay somewhere tonight…”
when i came to the gate, to my surprise, it was really 22 young persons at my doorstep, together with their rucksacs and sleeping bags, wearing full scout uniforms.
i quickly made decision and offered them my patio/garden as instant free accommodation solution.
they accepted it
following morning while they were still sleeping, i took these photos as proof our house is indeed doing well in terms of “sobe - zimmer- rooms- apartments” business

New book on Korcula Town is published by Dusan Kalogjera, writer and publiser from Korcula.
The image on the cover (see above) depicts Korcula Old Town as small island surrounded by the sea.
Although some people found this image ofensive , commenting about negative connotations of the image regarding the rest of the Island, I quite like it. It is unusual and symbolic way of seeing Korcula town.
As this book is written about Korcula Town, I see no reason why other places of the island would be offended by it?!

Korcula ’s Traffic Authorities mean business for sure - no more illegal parking along Korcula’s streets:

In last couple of days, “pauk” - the vehicle locally called “spider” is collecting all illegaly parked cars.
Well done guys, since you arrived it is real pleasure to walk along these beautiful streets

After all hard work on sobe-apartman sign, beside loads of human beings, we also got some lodgers that not fit into that category - family of birds is now staying with us too
I spent couple of afternoons trying to catch them on my camera.
This is what I achieved:

Mum ( or dad) is bringing home fome food

Doors are bit narrow…

… but never mind - still managable

Inside the apartment, they are ready for meal..

Mum (or dad) is flying back to find more supplies…
Although they are more than welcome into our garden, we would eventually have to admit to Stanka from Korcula Tourist Board - they are not paying any rent, nor paying any “boravisna pristojba” (local visitor tax)
Furthermore, their apartment is not even officially categorised, so we are not sure what to display - 3 or 2 stars only?

I wish cyclist would be excempt from this one-way regulation in Sveti Nikola.
I also cycle wrong way all the time and it is now matter of days ( if not hours) that time will come when I will also have to pay fine for it.
I hope Milica ( local police women) is not reading my blog regularly…

As soon as I arrived in Korcula my mum was complaining that there is no enough bookings for our sobe and apartments so she wanted me to do something about that.
Therefore, instead of being lazy and enjoying myself I had to sort our additional promotion and marketing activities to increase income in our house budget.
I spent couple of days working hard, considering all options.
Eventualy I produce this sigh:

I am quite happy with it - it’s large and colorful, it points passes by to our house saying we rent out rooms and apartment.
Also, I like yellow and red colour which fits well together with bogumila’s violet flowers.
Of course, we now have flow of people trying to book our accommodations
Happy House
