According to Slobodna Dalmacija - the Dalmatian daily newspaper, the first and the only Museum of Wines in Croatia is to be opened in Putnikovici - the small, picturesque village in the interior of Peljesac Peninsula!
Due to the fertile soil and abundant sunshine, the grape for the top quality wines Dinga? and Postup has been cultivated here for centuries, while nearby olive groves produce olives for the golden-yellow oil of a special scent and taste.
The museum will be arranged in large stone building that belongs to Poljoprivredna zadruga “Putnikovi?i”, located at the edge of the main road that leads across Peljesac.
The building, which used to be local primary school, is covering the area of 750 square meters and has plenty of room as well as places for parking.
The idea of the Museum is initiated by Mr ?elimir Ba?i?, the wine enthusiast, who will also grant to the Museum his own wine documentation and artefacts collection about Dalmatian wines.
It is also expected that heritage of late Stjepan Buli?, the well known wine expert from Dalmatia, will also be granted to the Museum.

I was browsing through some travel videos at YouTube.com, and found this video clip of Rick Steves travels in Croatia and Slovenia. In this part of the video, Rick Steves talks about Korcula and Dubrovnik - have a look :
According to announcement by Tomislav Jurjevic, the head of Opcina Orebic (the Orebic Municipality) , withing next 2-3 years, we can expect new Orebic bypass road to be fully functional.
As the existing road that runs through Orebic, along the seashore to current ferry terminal to Korcula was not built to sustain a large number of vehicles and is rather narrow, in recent years during summertime, the increase of traffic through the Orebic towards the ferry terminal is often difficult and jammed.
With the introduction of new ferry terminal in Perna and Orebic bypass, it is expected that traffic in the area will become more bearable.
The project will be financed by the Ministry of Sea Tourism Transport and Development of the Republic of Croatia and Dubrovnik-Neretva Country.
See the stunning coastline and islands on the coastal ferry, enjoying life in the slow lane.
The full trip involves an overnight which you could spend on the deck or pay a bit more for a cabin. Otherwise enjoy part of the route between the major cities and islands along the coast - the ferry calls at Split, Hvar and Korcula amongst others.
