About Korcula Town Statute : Korcula Statute is an important legal document from 13th century that covers laws of Korcula city and island of Korcula. It belong to group of oldest Slav legal documents too. The Statute, as a book (compilation) of laws, was passed in 1214, but the only preserved version that is available is from 1265. Instead of ferry “Ivan Zajc”, since last week, ferry “Marco Polo” is continuing with sailing on ferry route from Rijeka via Zadar, Split, Hvar, Korcula , Mljet to Dubrovnik and further to Bari (Italy)

Ferry “Ivan Zajc” is taking over ferry line from Split to Pescara in Italy.

Newly introduced ferry “Marco Polo” is 130 meters long with capacity of up to 1000 passengers and 300 vehicles. The ferry has crew of 80 members and achieves speed up to 21 knots. It will sail at this route until October.

The oldest known picture of Korcula, Croatia in this picture of Korcula by Konrad von Gr?nemberg. The picture dates from 1486. It is created by Konrad von Grunemberg and published in his book called “Pilgerreise von Konstanz nach Jeruzalem” / “Pilgrimage from Konstanz to Jeruzalem”, in 1486.

Konrad von Gr?nemberg was German traveler who travelled along Dalmatian Coast and also visited Zadar Hvar and Dubrovnik on his pilgrimage to Holly Land…
