New ship Krilo Express for daily passenger only service Korcula Hvar Split
02.03.06 – Company that runs catamaran/ passenger only ferry service Korcula-Hvar-Split announced it’s recent aquisition of new fast ship.
The ship, built in France, was bought recently in Singapore for sole purpouse to serve this route.
This speedy ship is much faster and larger then catamarans “Krila” and “Mala Lara” that are currently sailing on this route.
The new ship called “Krilo Express” is 36.5 m long and 7.8 meters wide. This fast ship can carry up to 270 passengers at the speed of 32 knots.
We have recently been informed by the company that owns the ship, that it will begin it’s saling at the end of March 2006 instead of catamaran “Krilo”, which is currenlty serving this route.

what is the cost of the transit in June ? Is it possible to break up the journey and get off in Hvar for a few days and the go on to Korcula another day ?

I contacted SEM by email but they say they are no longer the agents for this service and that I should contact Jadrolinija instead. Do you know anything about this? I want to travel from Split to Korcula on Saturday 1 July and I need to know whether I have to book in advance or if there will be room for (four of) us if we turn up on the day.
I want to go by ferry from Split to Korcula – or a catamaran. Do they all go to Vela Luka or will some of them arrive in Korcula town?

Gavin – try to contact Marco Polo Tours in Korcula for advance booking.
Leif Inge Johannessen – there is daily ferry Split – Vela Luka, daily catamaran Split – Vela Luka and daily catamaran Split – Korcula.
I contacted Marko Polo Tours, as suggested. They tell me that reservations aren’t possible (without buying a ticket) so if you’re coming from abroad that’s not feasible. However, it’s enough to buy tickets the day before or at least in the morning of travel. Tickets can be purchased from Jadrolinija’s small office at the port where the catamaran departs, near the bus station in Split.
There is no problem taking luggage on the catamaran.
Is it possible to make a reservation for one person on 16 June at 17:00 h for Split-Hvar ? How far is it from Split airport to the place where the catamaran departs?

Question. Right now I am looking at a flight that gets me into Split on Aug 7th at 3:40pm (15:40). That gives me 1 hour and 20 minutes to get to the 17:00 departure of the boat going to Korcula. Is that going to be enough time?
Also, if I have a friend in Split arriving before me and leaving before I get there, can he buy me a ticket and leave at the ticket office for me?

We are travelling from Split on 07/09 by Ferry to Vera Luka, arriving 13.45 We then need to get to Lumbarda. Can you tell me if there is a direct bus service? Otherwise, the bus to Korcula town seems to leave at 13.35, 10 mins before the ferry gets in. Is this right?
PLease can you also tell me if the 6.00am catamaran leaves from Korcula Town or Vela Luka.

We are planning to take the catamaran from Split to Korcula on September 27. Is it advisable to try and book tickets ahead? Is there a map that shows where the ferry leaves from the harbor?
We want to travel from Split to Hvar on the Catamaran at 4pm (Mala Lara or Krilo Express) on October 14. Then return Hvar to Split October 16 at 8am. Is this schedule accurate? I contacted Split Tours as mentioned on the KorculaInfo website, but they emailed back saying they don’t handle the catamaran, and to contact Jadrolinija. I emailed Jadrolinija but have not heard from them. Does anyone know if Jadrolinija really is the only place to buy tickets? We arrive Split 2 days before this sailing. Will this be enough advance time to get reservations and buy tickets? Need to get accommodations in Hvar but need to be sure about Catamaran transportation.

Keit, this ferry leaves from Korcula Town and this is the only one that leaves daily.
Alina, take bus from Split airport to the town. You can book room at Hotel Marjan.
eva baer – i doubt you can make it. you would need to overnight in Split.
Lucy, take bus to Korcula Town and then change for bus to Lumbarda. This ferry leaves from Korcula Town.
Greg, you don’t need to book it in advance – it shoud be places available. I am not aware of any map but onece in Split harbour, ask for ferry dock.

Allthe published timetables for Catamaran Krilo or Mala Lara for 2007 seem to leave out the month of June. Is it possible to get timetable for that month please – Split – Hvar – Korcula?

At the moment, this is our latest info.
We will publish new timetable as soon as it becomes available.
We expect it to be similar as last year – daily depatures from Split at around 5pm, arrival in Town of Korcula (via Town of Hvar) at around 7.45 pm.
Daily morning departures from Korcula at around 6.30 am , arrival in Split around 9 am.

This ferry sails from Split to Hvar and the continues ( fetr few minutes) towards Korcula Town. So , you don’t need to overnight in Hvar unless you want to stay there too.

I am travelling to Hvar on the 9th June, arriving at 10am in Split. What would be the best way for me to get to Hvar?
The Catamaran only seems to run to Hvar at 5pm from Split and the ferry at 6.30am (too early for us).

Also, my flight back to the UK leaves Split at 3.10pm. What is the best way to get back from Hvar to meet this flight?

We are from South Africa and will be visiting Croatia in June/July. Is there any way that we can book a ferry from Split to Korcula on 27 June 2007 and back to Split on 3 July 2007? We have pre-booked accommodation and are worried that it’s full when we only book there. Isn’t it high season late June to July?

1. Is there some way to reach Hvar from DBV by ferry/catamaran? Even if it’s not direct? I’ve been searching and have really only found very long trips btwn the 2.

from dubrovnik to hvar, there is also only that direct ferry by jadrolinija.hr which takes long time, as you said. nothing else is available.
We will arrive at Split airport on 19/7 at 13.40 on our way to Korcula via Vela Luka. We wish to obtain tickets for the ferry leaving Split at 1500 for Vela Luka on the same day. I know it will be a rush but can we get these over the internet please?

Ian: You should have enought time if ferry arrives on time. Also, try to exit among the first people and tell about your intentions to crew at the exit so they can show you directions to Split – Korcula catamaran.
