Museum of Wine in Putnikovici on Peljesac
According to Slobodna Dalmacija - the Dalmatian daily newspaper, the first and the only Museum of Wines in Croatia is to be opened in Putnikovici - the small, picturesque village in the interior of Peljesac Peninsula!
Due to the fertile soil and abundant sunshine, the grape for the top quality wines Dinga? and Postup has been cultivated here for centuries, while nearby olive groves produce olives for the golden-yellow oil of a special scent and taste.
The museum will be arranged in large stone building that belongs to Poljoprivredna zadruga “Putnikovi?i”, located at the edge of the main road that leads across Peljesac.
The building, which used to be local primary school, is covering the area of 750 square meters and has plenty of room as well as places for parking.
The idea of the Museum is initiated by Mr ?elimir Ba?i?, the wine enthusiast, who will also grant to the Museum his own wine documentation and artefacts collection about Dalmatian wines.
It is also expected that heritage of late Stjepan Buli?, the well known wine expert from Dalmatia, will also be granted to the Museum.

This is a wonderful idea. I am sure it will attract many tourists.
I presume it will not be opened for this year’s season.
Bridge accross Peljesac sounds as an excellent plan too. Very likely there will be a toll. So, sombody else will start making money. I hope it will happen. Real estate prices on Korcula will sky rocket.
Best Regards,
I.H.
P.S. This is the first time I checked Korcula Blog. I came across it when checking your web site. We are going to be in Marco Polo in Early July. I hope the hotel opening is on schedule for May 26th, and that big pool hole is going to be filled and completed..

Hi Iskra,
Welcome to Korcula blog!
Yes, Museum of Wine is excellent idea. I am looking forward to visit it as soon as it’s opened.
Re Hotel Marko Polo - as far as I know, there are no indication of any delays in schedule - so I strongly believe the hole will be filled by the time of your arrival…
