It has been reported that <a href="http://www.mmpi.hr/default.aspx?id=404" target="_blank">Božidar<strong> </strong>Kalmeta</a>, the Croatian Sea, Transport and Infrastructure Minister said in <a title="Zadar" href="http://www.find-croatia.com/zadar/" target="_blank">Zadar</a> last week that scrapping the construction of the <a title="Peljesac Bridge" href="http://www.korculainfo.com/blog/index.php/category/peljesac/peljesac-bridge/" target="_blank">Peljesac Bridge</a> was out of the question.<br />
&#8220;Most of the works that is currently under way is not visible, which perhaps confuses some people&#8221;, he said in response to questions from the press.<br />
He also said the <a title="Peljesac Bridge" href="http://www.korculainfo.com/blog/index.php/category/peljesac/peljesac-bridge/" target="_blank">bridge</a> would most probably be built by the end of the current government&#8217;s term, and added that there were no directives from the European Union to abandon construction.<br />
&#8220;There are no doubts about the <a title="Peljesac Bridge" href="http://www.korculainfo.com/blog/index.php/category/peljesac/peljesac-bridge/" target="_blank">Pelješac Bridge</a>. The work on the access roads has begun and abutments have been ordered&#8230; Everything possible at this stage of the project is being done&#8221;, said the minister.</p>
