Cruiser M/S Monet trapped in Korcula

The cute little cruising ship M/S Monet is trapped in a Korcula harbour due to bad weather.
The ship is cruising along the Dalmatian Coast with about 20 passengers on the board. It is trapped by bad weather, so it is hanging around Korcula already for few days.
I feel sorry for the passengers it must be pretty boring hanging around the same place for such a long time stuck at the boat that is constantly rocking from one side to another. Luckily, Korcula old town’s harbour is very good for this weather conditions as it is completely sheltered from Jugo wind but as soon as you sail around the corner, wind is really strong and rocking starts…
I would never recommend to anybody to go cruising along Adriatic in December or any other winter month. You can be lucky and have great and calm weather (very unlikely, though), but what if you end up with week long Jugo weather?
So, go cruising in summers, stay at terrafirma in winters, or as old Dalmatian saying says “hvali more, drz se kraja” ( I will not even try to translate this as it will probably be lost in translation anyway, but using licencia poetica, it means something like ” don’t mess up with sea”)

Update 12.12.06 - Kapetan Roko, of Rokao and Ela Apartments, a friend of mine, just emailed me saying that Mala Lara Catamaran was not sailing on 09.12.06 either, due to bad weather. So the only ship that left Korcula Harbour on that day was Jadrolinija’s Liburnija that bravely continued with it’s journey towards Dubrovnik
