Lesic Dimitri Palace was presented, for the first time, at the recent seminar on  ‘The importance of special interests tourism for sustainable development’ , organised by the Korcula Tourist Board in November 2007 in Korcula Town.

Last week,as part of events marking the anniversary of the naval battle near the island of Korcula on September 1298, between the naval forces of the time, Venice and Genova, during which Marco Polo was taken prisoner, the brochure and a film on Marco Polo were launched in Korcula by the Croatian Tourist Board .

Croatia Tourist Board has published new promotional DVD titled ” Croatia Homeland of Marco Polo DVD “.

Marco Polo Fest – The international festival of music and wine that takes place evey summer in Korcula, is going to happened again next summer for 12th times. The dates for your diary are 20.7. to 22.7.2007.
The Festival will take place at Kor?ula’s Summer stage.

There is some recent news coming from Korcula?s Marco Polo Center about possible beginning of project of building replica of Marco Polo?s Galleon, which would be permanently displayed in Korcula Town.
The galleon is supposed to be similar one as Marco Polo was using during the Battle of Korcula back in 1298.
